MLK background with verbiage

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Coordinating Committee's (MLKCC) mission is to provide cultural activities to honor Dr. King and to enable people to reflect on his life and teachings through education, cultural performances, exhibitions and events. These multi-ethnic, family oriented activities garner the support of families, community leaders and activists to motiviate students, enrich their lives, and launch them toward careers in their area of interest.

For over 30-years the Martin Luther King Cooridnating Committee has held the breakfast commorating the teaching of Dr. King. 2023 was the 43rd annual event, which started even before King’s birthday became a national holiday. The breakfast honors the work of King, along with other people who have made a difference in the community. It also rewards students for skills such as public speaking.
